About the Project

The Poti International Regional Theatre Festival is an annual cultural event held every July in the city of Poti, Georgia. Since its inception in 2014 with the captivating performance of “Shoes Without Soles” by a Polish theatre company, the festival has become a prominent showcase for global theatrical diversity.

The festival features theatre groups from Poland, Ukraine, Japan, Lithuania, Serbia, Belarus, Italy, and Iran, alongside significant participation from Georgian theatre companies.

The artistic director and founder of this cultural and artistic festival is Nineli Chankotadze, a distinguished theatre actress. Her influential role has been pivotal in fostering international artistic connections and providing a platform for the global exchange of theatrical expressions.

Beyond international performances, the festival offers educational workshops and diverse masterclasses, particularly aimed at young participants. It plays a crucial role in enhancing cultural exchange, nurturing regional artistic talent, and establishing friendly artistic relationships, solidifying its place as a cornerstone in the global theatre calendar.
