Death Performance in Invisible City (International Festival of Italy – F.L.I.P.T)

About This Project

About the Project:

Potlach Theatre has been active for over four decades, beginning its journey in the village of Fara Sabina near Rome. Founded in 1976 by Pino Di Buduo and Daniela Regnoli, the theatre solidified its artistic core with the addition of Swiss actress Nathalie Mentha in 1979. Together, they embarked on a path blending anthropological insights, cultural exploration, and a commitment to pushing artistic boundaries.

At the heart of Potlach Theatre’s global engagement is the F.L.I.P.T Festival, an essential event organized in collaboration with the International School of Theatre Anthropology (I.S.T.A.), directed by the renowned Eugenio Barba. His expertise has enriched Potlach Theatre’s legacy and fostered the development of emerging talents.

This partnership with I.S.T.A. and Eugenio Barba not only elevates the festival’s prestige but also cements Potlach Theatre’s position as a global force in the performing arts. Their work emphasizes continuous learning, cultural exchange, and the blending of diverse performance traditions.

Beyond the festival, Potlach Theatre’s influence resonates through various projects, notably the transformative “Invisible Cities” initiative, inspired by Italo Calvino’s novel. Launched in 1991, this project annually welcomes theatre groups from around the world, reflecting Potlach’s ethos of transcending traditional spaces and engaging with local communities globally.
